Panda Quick Remover Review
Panda Quick Remover is a free utility to remove leftover files and registry entries left behind after uninstalling any of the Panda security products. It works for all versions of the family and supports Mac OS X.
The program installs quickly and easily, displaying a clean and uncluttered home interface with three buttons: Status, Cleaner, and Toolkit. The first button allows you to check the status of your computer, including CPU, disk space, and more. The second button lets you clear the junk files on your hard drive, which can improve system performance. Finally, the third button offers a collection of tools to help keep your computer clean.
While the software didn't perform great in our tests, it does have an extensive feature set. For example, it includes a process monitor that shows you a list of all processes active on your computer. It highlights the security status of each, and you can click to view more details. The utility also displays the digital signature, download date, and number of HTTP connections each process has opened.
The program's USB "vaccination" can prevent malware from contaminating your computer via USB devices. It also offers a rootkit scanner, which finds and removes hidden programs that can access your computer's operating system. It also tries to prevent users from accidentally infecting their systems with rootkits by requiring a password before the program can scan for rootkits. It also features a Rescue Kit that can restore a PC rendered unbootable by viruses.
